Clay Related Skills (optimal, but not required):
Familiar with and can handle clay, underglaze, glaze
Packing and shipping finished ceramics
Cleaning and organization of studio work areas
The dot painter will paint dots on decorated pottery, make forms with slabs, general studio upkeep, sanding and pricing pots, cleaning, packing and shipping finished pieces. Interaction and sales with the public is expected. Online sales duties including photography, posting images and tracking sales. Additional skills and jobs will be added as time, personal interest and orders permit.
This position includes worker’s comp and paid major holidays once qualified. Flexible time off is available with a reasonable amount of notice given. Includes access to community studio pottery space, minimal clay and firings.
First 90 days on the job is a trial bases. Review of job performance and expectations of both parties will take place at 3 months, 6 months and then once a year at the year anniversary.
